The Paediatric Emergency Department of the Hospital General Universitario Santa Luc\u00eda<\/a> de Cartagena<\/a> will unveil the new ornamentation, which will humanize the environment in which the children who need immediate attention will be, in December.<\/p>\n

\nThe project, that is being launched with the collaboration of Urbincasa<\/a>, will consist of a series of wall-stickers with illustrations of animals that will be placed and allocated in the consulting rooms and waiting room where these patients receive their treatments.<\/p>\n

This initiative will improve the aesthetics and will transfer positive messages to the little ones in order to make their stay more pleasant. And therefore constitutes a new impulse to the \u201chumanization of the environment programme\u201d regarding children\u2019s hospitalisation in the Santa Lucia Hospital. It also tries to favour the attention towards the psychosocial and affective needs of hospitalised children, creating a comfortable environment that contributes to their recovery.<\/p>\n

The general manager of Urbincasa, Francisco Cervantes, highlighted \u00abthe daily work that all the professionals in the Health Area 2 of Cartagena carry out to improve our lives\u00bb and described the collaboration as \u00aban amazing opportunity to publicly recognize the work they are doing, making the children\u2019s and their families\u2019 day to day lives easier\u00bb.<\/p>\n

In the words of the manager of the Health Area, Jos\u00e9 Sedes \u00abwe want to humanize these spaces as much as possible\u00bb, and according to the Health Department \u00abwe always endeavour to ensure hospitalised children enjoy more humane and child-apt environments, as it has been proven that these types of environments can contribute to their well-being and recovery\u00bb.<\/p>\n

It is a proven fact that more humane and child-apt environments help reduce the anxiety and fear that small children manifest in hospital environments, and that these environments can sometimes contribute to their well-being and recovery whilst also facilitating the work of the paediatric doctors and nurses.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
