{"id":7989,"date":"2019-02-15T13:12:55","date_gmt":"2019-02-15T11:12:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/urbincasa.es\/blog\/?p=7989"},"modified":"2019-04-15T14:31:42","modified_gmt":"2019-04-15T12:31:42","slug":"sustainable-cities-smart-tourism-destinations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/urbincasa.es\/blog\/2019\/02\/sustainable-cities-smart-tourism-destinations\/?lang=en","title":{"rendered":"Sustainable cities, smart tourism destinations"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"bsf_rt_marker\"><\/div><p>At the hour of choosing a specific place to acquire their second home or even to settle down and take up permanent residence, more and more people (especially families), are not only guided by the offer of sun and beach, or the active tourism offering of the area &#8211; which are both very important -, but they also take into account the innovativeness of their destination, that it is accessible to all and fitted with an advanced technological infrastructure that guarantees sustainable development.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, this is an added value that is highly appreciated by companies seeking new locations to set up, or to open delegations, in order to carry out their business.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-7990\" src=\"https:\/\/urbincasa.es\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/logo-smart-destination-1024x366.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"286\" srcset=\"https:\/\/urbincasa.es\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/logo-smart-destination-1024x366.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/urbincasa.es\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/logo-smart-destination-300x107.jpg 300w, https:\/\/urbincasa.es\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/logo-smart-destination-768x274.jpg 768w, https:\/\/urbincasa.es\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/logo-smart-destination.jpg 1201w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Of course we are talking about what is commonly known as a \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.destinosinteligentes.es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Smart Tourist Destination<\/a>\u201d, a concept that is gaining more ground by the day in the area of \u200b\u200bthe <a href=\"http:\/\/www.costablanca.org\/Eng\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Costa Blanca<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.murciaturistica.es\/en\/sun_and_beach\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Costa C\u00e1lida<\/a>. Proof of this are two initiatives that have recently been launched in the provinces of Alicante and Murcia.<\/p>\n<p>In the first of them, the Consell (Regional Counsel) has authorized the \u201cDigital District\u201d &#8211; a cluster of companies related to innovation and new technologies \u2013 to be expanded though the opening of a third \u201ctech\u201d location at the tourist destination per excellence of the Costa Blanca, <a href=\"http:\/\/en.visitbenidorm.es\/index.php\/admin\/skin\/skinwizard.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Benidorm<\/a>. The new district will be situated in an area adjacent to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.terramiticapark.com\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Terra M\u00edtica<\/a> complex, on a 750.000 square meter plot, as a destination for large companies and start-ups, which is projected to provide jobs for about 3.000 people in the next five years.<\/p>\n<p>Close to the Benidorm area, the other two branches of the \u201cDigital District\u201d in the province are Elche and Alicante. The latter has two nuclei: the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ciudaddelaluz.com\/EN\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">City of Light<\/a> (which will mainly focus on clustering videogame developing companies) and the Port facilities, whose cruise terminal will house numerous <a href=\"https:\/\/www.accenture.com\/gb-en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Accenture<\/a> workers, a multinational dedicated to providing consulting, technological and subcontracting services.As for the Murcia Region, within the framework of the so called Smart City concept which aims to improve the quality of life in cities and the services provided to the citizen, as well as improve process-efficiency through the use of new technologies. On January 28th the work on a new digital system began, that will facilitate access to the Public Administration for those people with visual and hearing disabilities. This project is called \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.navilens.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Navilens<\/a>\u201d, an innovative digital guiding system that steers and accompanies the aforementioned users during the administrative procedures they undertake whilst at the buildings of the Autonomous Community, enabled by a mobile application and a radiofrequency mechanism. This service can also be used by tourists and foreigners, as it is available in 16 languages.<\/p>\n<p>For now, the pilot project has been installed in four official buildings in the city of Murcia and in the Forum of Cartagena, among others. And is expected to reach the rest of the offices of the regional government providing direct attention to the public in the coming months, making it the first Region in Spain to incorporate this technology.<\/p>\n<p>In conclusion, these two innovative technological projects that have recently been presented &#8211; the Alicante province \u201cDigital District\u201d and the \u201cNavilens\u201d application in the Murcia Region -, prove the dedication and commitment of the different public administrations of the Spanish \u201cLevante\u201d towards developing sustainable smart tourism.
